Murat Ham was born in Braunschweig, Germany, and holds a master’s degree in political science with a focus in political communications and journalism research from the Freie Universität Berlin. His thesis work examined political journalism in the capital cities of Berlin and Washington. A trained journalist, Murat Ham possesses several years professional experience working as an editor at renowned print, online and broadcast media outlets, as well as having worked as an editorial director in corporate communications. Already a recognized author after the publication of a short story with the publisher Droemer Knauer, Murat Ham made his public appearance as a book author in 2009. Together with Erkan Arikan, he published the book “Jung, erfolgreich, türkisch: Ein etwas anderes Porträt der Migranten in Deutschland” (“Young, Successful, Turkish: A Somewhat Different Portrait of Migrants in Germany”) with the publishing group Lübbe.
